When are Avanti West Coast Off-Peak times?

Off-Peak travel times vary depending on your departure location, but there are general rules that apply across the network:

  • Monday to Friday:
    • In major cities and large towns, Off-Peak tickets are valid for departures from around 9:30 am onwards.
    • In other areas, Off-Peak starts from approximately 9:00 am.
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: Off-Peak fares apply all day, so you can travel at any time with an Off-Peak ticket.

Additionally, Avanti West Coast offers Off-Peak Fridays, meaning you can travel at any time on Fridays if your journey starts or ends at London Euston (excluding travel to or from Milton Keynes Central). This is a great way to kick off your weekend early without paying Peak prices.

To check whether your chosen train is Off-Peak, simply use Avanti West Coast’s online journey planner. If Off-Peak tickets are available for purchase, then your train qualifies for Off-Peak pricing.

When can I use Super Off-Peak tickets?

Super Off-Peak tickets are only available for travel between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central and come with specific time restrictions:

  • Travelling towards London: Your train must not arrive at London Euston before 1:00 pm.
  • Travelling away from London: Your train must not depart London Euston before 10:30 am or between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
  • Weekends: These restrictions do not apply, meaning Super Off-Peak tickets are valid all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

For the best savings, always check different travel times to see if an Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak fare is available for your journey.
