Wondering where you’ll be sitting on your upcoming journey with Avanti West Coast? Knowing a bit about your seats before can help with where to position yourself when boarding as well as what to expect along your journey, meaning a quicker and easier travel experience. So, we‘ve compiled all the information you’ll need to know below, including full seating plans and a mini breakdown of the train layout.

Avanti West Coast seating plans

Where exactly you’re sat will depend on what model of Avanti West Coast train you are on. There are two main fleets of Avanti West Coast trains - Evero and Pendolino - which can be most easily identifiable by their exterior. On the front, the newer Evero fleet boasts a black and dark green colour, whilst Pendolino trains can be recognised by its yellow, dark blue and black front. Make sure to keep an eye out when walking down the platform or as your train pulls in!

How to find your seats on Avanti West Coast trains

Finding your seats on Avanti West Coast trains is a breeze. Firstly, you’ll want to check your ticket (either digital or physical) for your seat number. This will typically consist of a letter and a number (B24, for example). The letter will indicate which Coach you are on, and then the number is your seat within that Coach.

If you have reserved your seat prior, keep an eye out for the letters displayed on the side of each Coach and align them with your seat number. Avanti West Coast made this handy graphic to help you know where to stand when waiting for your train.

Board that coach and then look at each seat, which will be clearly numbered (and available in braille, too).

If you have not reserved a seat, keep an eye out for the ‘traffic light system’ above each seat which lets you know which are booked and when they’re booked from.
