You can often save big on your Elizabeth Line tickets by travelling during Off-Peak times, when fares are lower and trains are usually quieter (meaning you're much more likely to get a seat, too!). This quick guide explains Elizabeth Line Off-Peak times, when tickets are valid, and how to get the best deals.

When are Off-Peak Elizabeth Line tickets valid?

Off-peak Elizabeth Line tickets are valid during the following times:

Weekdays (excluding bank holidays)

  • Before 06:30
  • Between 9:30 and 16:00
  • After 19:00

There are a couple of exceptions, though. If you're travelling from a station outside into zone 1 between 16:00 and 19:00 on weekdays, you'll still pay off-peak fares. For any Elizabeth Line journey to or from Heathrow Airport, you’ll pay peak fares if it goes through zone 1, regardless of the time you travel.

Weekends and bank holidays

  • All day Saturday and Sunday
  • All day on bank holidays

Elizabeth Line peak times are defined by Transport for London (TfL). The peak period (when off-peak tickets are not valid) is Monday to Friday 06:30–09:30 and 16:00–19:00. Luckily, this doesn't apply on bank holiday Mondays, Christmas Day (no services), Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday or Easter Monday.

Remember, these times only apply to the Elizabeth Line, and other TfL services, including the DLR and London Underground. Other train operators may have different peak and off-peak times, so be sure to double check before you book.

When are Super Off-Peak Elizabeth Line tickets valid?

Elizabeth Line – as governed by TfL – doesn't have a specific 'Super Off-Peak' fare. It only operates with standard Peak and Off-Peak periods. Off-Peak fares for Elizabeth Line services generally apply on weekdays before 06:30, between 09:30 and 16:00, and then again after 19:00. It also applies all day on weekends and bank holidays. There are some exceptions.

Or you can search directly by selecting specific times in the search bar – just look for trains departing weekdays before 06:30, between 09:30 and 16:00, and after 19:00 – or any time at weekends.
