Where does the Heathrow Express run?
The Heathrow Express stops directly at the combined train station for Terminals 2 & 3, as well as the one for Terminal 5. If you're looking to get to Terminal 4, you have to change trains. This is done by transferring for free onto an Elizabeth Line train at the Terminal 2 & 3 station.
As the Elizabeth Line trains stop at more stations before they reach Heathrow, catching the Heathrow Express means you benefit from the express portion of the journey by getting into the airport complex faster than the slow trains and just changing for the last part of the journey to Terminal 4. The additional journey time is around five minutes, but you may need to wait for the appropriate connection to arrive
What if I need to travel outside these times?
The Heathrow Express stops each day between roughly midnight and 5am. This is because there are restrictions on night take offs and landings at Heathrow to avoid excessive noise in the local area. This means you're unlikely to need to travel outside these times.
If you do, though, it's worth remembering that coaches run through the night. You can check out our Coach Journey Planner to book tickets.
