How do I get my lost item back from Northern Rail?
If you realise you have lost property while travelling on Northern trains, the best thing to do is contact the operator directly to report your missing item(s).
To do this, simply send an email to lostproperty@northernrailway.co.uk or call Northern Rail on 0800 200 6060.
Moreover, some Northern Rail stations have specific lost property teams you can contact:
- Leeds Station: 0113 350 3966
- Manchester Piccadilly: 0161 820 7579
- Liverpool Lime Street: 0151 909 3697
You should be ready to give Northern a detailed description of the lost item, information about the service during which you lost it and, where possible, the specific location you lost it on the train.
Once you make your report, Northern Rail will investigate your lost property claim and contact you when they find your item(s). There may be a small delay between the time when you file your report to the lost property appearing in Northern Rail’s database, so please be patient.
Where can I pick up my lost item from Northern Rail?
Once matched, Northern Rail will always carry out a security protocol to confirm the item(s) as yours. After this, you will be able to collect it from the designated station that Northern indicates or organise a courier for its transportation. Since lost property cannot be placed back on a train, it is not possible to choose the station from which to collect it.
