When are Off-Peak West Midlands Railway tickets valid?
West Midlands Railway Off-Peak times can vary by route, ticket type and date of travel, but generally it means travelling later than 09:30 during the week, or any time at weekends or Bank Holidays.
Within the West Midlands Zones 1-5, for example, Off-Peak Singles and Off-Peak Day Return tickets are valid Monday to Friday from 09:30, except for trains departing from Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill, Five Ways, or Jewellery Quarter between 16:35 and 18:00 (evening restrictions do not apply for those travelling to or beyond Hereford, Shrewsbury, Stafford, or Northampton).
Types of Off-Peak West Midlands Railway tickets
- Off-Peak Single, valid for a Single journey between two stations on the date shown on ticket.
- Off-Peak Day Return, valid for a Return journey between two stations on the date shown on ticket.
- Off-Peak Return, valid for a Return journey between two stations. With this ticket type, the outward journey must take place on the date shown on the ticket and Return portion remains valid for one calendar month from start date shown on ticket.
- £3.50 Evening Return Off-Peak, valid Monday to Sunday from 18:30.
- Daytripper Off-Peak, valid Monday to Friday from 09:30 (no evening restrictions apply).
