Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare

Renfe supports large families in Spain with discounted fares, offering 20% for general and 50% for special category families on AVE and Larga Distancia trains. However, these discounts are not valid on AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías trains. Additionally, single-parent families can enjoy discounts on Rodalies services in Catalonia by presenting a certificate issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Renfe Over-60s Fare

Renfe offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60 with the Tarjeta Dorada. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. Renfe Young Persons Fare

Young people aged 14 to 25 can enjoy up to 30% off train fares with the Más Renfe Joven Card, which costs €50. This card, valid for a year and non-transferable, offers a 30% discount on AVE and AVE international trains. Additionally, get a 25% discount on Avant, Cercanías, and Rodalies trains.

Renfe Children Fare

Renfe grants a 40% discount on ticket prices for children aged 4 to 13. These children can select seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and they can make changes or get refunds according to the ticket type, potentially incurring a fee. Básico

Básico is the cheapest fare on AVE trains. It is not refundable or changeable.

Elige Estándar fare on AVE trains is slightly more expensive than the Básico fare. This ticket option opens the possibility of refunds (70% of original ticket price) and one change free of charge along with many additional paid services.

Elige Confort

Elige Confort is slightly more expensive than Elige Estándar. The main difference is that the seats are XL Confort, which are wider and offer more leg room.

Prémium is the most expensive fare, offering unlimited free changes and refunds, and XL Confort Seating.
