Renfe offers discounts for disabled individuals, providing up to 40% off. By purchasing a Tarjeta Dorada for €6, you can travel on AVE, Avant, and Cercanías trains for one year. Note that the discount on Avant trains is higher on weekends. Refunds or changes to your ticket depend on the type of ticket and may involve a fee.
Renfe Children Fare
Renfe grants a 40% discount on ticket prices for children aged 4 to 13. These children can select seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and they can make changes or get refunds according to the ticket type, potentially incurring a fee. Children under four travel for free but do not receive a reserved seat. Please note that, on Cercanías trains, children under six can travel for free without a reserved seat.
Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare
Renfe supports large families in Spain with discounted fares, offering 20% for general and 50% for special category families on AVE and Larga Distancia trains. However, these discounts are not valid on AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías trains. Renfe offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60 with the Tarjeta Dorada. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. If you are travelling on AVE and AVE international trains, you can get a 25% discount. For Avant trains, discounts vary between weekdays and weekends: 25% during weekdays and 40% on weekends. All services provided with discounted tickets are the same as those with full-price tickets, including the policies for changes and refunds.
