London Euston to Derby direct trains

Trains don't actually depart from Euston to Derby, they leave from nearby St Pancras International. Luckily, you can self-transfer to this station – it's really easy, too. When you come out of Euston, turn left down Euston Road and go straight for just under 10 minutes – you'll soon see the iconic red-brick St Pancras station.

If it's raining or you're not keen on the walk, you can do a quick transfer on the tube. Hop on the Victoria line at Euston and hop off less than 60 seconds later at King's Cross St Pancras.

From St Pancras, there are 2 trains per hour to Derby, Monday to Saturday and 1 per hour on Sundays. This is a popular route among business travellers, students going to uni, and day trippers using Derby as a jumping-off point for the southern Peak District around Matlock and Bakewell.

As for University of Derby students visiting home in London for the weekend, the latest trains on Sunday night leave at 22:02 or 23:00. Just remember to add 10 minutes on for getting from Euston to St Pancras.

Departing from London Euston

Euston is right on the edge of central London in the borough of Camden, and close to the University of London and the British Museum. You can reach this station easily on the Northern, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines (the latter 3 stop at Euston Square station, which is next door).

Don't forget, to travel to Derby from London Euston, you'll need to transfer over to St Pancras. You can either walk down Euston Road (turn left when you come out of Euston) or jump on the Victoria line – it's just 1 stop to St Pancras.

Arriving at Derby

Derby station is conveniently located right in the city centre, within walking distance of the main business areas around Cathedral Quarter. Most of the aerospace and transport offices are within 15 minutes on foot or by local bus from outside the station.

Students studying at the University of Derby can reach the main Kedleston Road campus in 20 minutes by bus, while those heading to the South Peak District can catch onward trains to Matlock in 30 minutes.
