About Antalya

Antalya is a large city on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Set in what’s known as the Turkish Riviera, Antalya is a popular resort destination. Founded in the 2nd century BCE, Antalya and the surrounding areas contain a treasure trove of cultural artifacts. Numerous empires ruled Antalya at various points and the city maintains this rich heritage. While temperatures can rise sharply in the high summer months, Antalya’s climate is typical for Mediterranean cities, mostly dry and pleasant. Whether you’re looking for history or just beautiful scenery, Antalya is a great destination.

Trip Moments

The scenery here in Kaleici is so beautiful that it is the most memorable place in Turkey. When I went there, the sun was shining, just out of the blue Mediterranean Sea, allowing me to quietly admire the city.  There is a variety of food stores, specialty shops, local people on the road, and leisurely fishing on the shore that you can find. You can stop for a cup of apple tea in the outdoor seating of the café. You can purchase lovely tea sets in one of the many shops on the street as well. It is the perfect place for a lazy vacation in the sun.

JOJO’s wonderful trip
The Mediterranean town of Kas lies between Antalya and Fethiye. Antalya has a beautiful sea, a rich collection of museums, and a bustling commercial street. Everywhere you go in the city, you will be able to feel the holiday vibe. If you adapt to the Mediterranean lifestyle, the best thing to do is to find a local archaeological guide and take a boat to Ucahiz Island. You will be able to explore the famous ruins of the underwater city site.  As the boat sails on the turquoise sea, you will find that the bottom of the Roman monuments has been submerged into an underwater palace. Of course, diving enthusiasts must not miss the experience of diving here. The ancient palace churches are an unforgettable an unforgettable experience.

Turkey has long been a global crossroads. Straddling Europe and Asia, its lands have seen the rise and fall of vast empires including the Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. This long history combines with pristine natural beauty. Black Sea resorts dot Turkey’s northern coast. Grand cathedrals and mosques line the Bosporus Straits in Istanbul. Picturesque islands are scattered in the Aegean Sea. And ancient ruins coexist with modern luxury along the Mediterranean coast. It is a land for travelers seeking something exotic yet familiar. In this and so many other ways, Turkey is the ideal blend.
