This place is incredibly popular with the locals and the service is fast and furious. Apparently it's been going since 1946 so something of an institution. It's basically just a whole in the wall with seating arranged outside a derelict fly-posted shop front. Late at night you'd never even know that by day it's the busiest place in the square! Pork souvlakia are served with a piquant tomato sauce and lots of black pepper instead on the ubiquitous tsatziki which actually made a nice change. Two souvlakia and two beers came to just over 7 euro, so incredibly cheap. Glad to have visited an Athenian institution.
