The Apome Palace is one of the few world heritage sites in Benin, and the former owner of this palace is the once brilliant Dahomey dynasty. It is this dynasty that went to the West African neighbors to catch black people and then sell them to France for arms. So from this point on, the notorious black slave trade began with black people pitting themselves against black people. The guide explained in French, and I was in a state of confusion. But some unearthed artifacts and remnants of the building still touched the veins of this African dynasty. Every land has a similar ruler, a similar historical process, and that is the magic of the world.
