The Valley of the Temples, a world cultural heritage site in Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, is located on a hill 2 kilometers south of the city. The terrain is dangerous, overlooking the city on one side, and sitting on the green space of the valley on the other. The hill is lined with the remains of the ancient Greek temple in red.
It is said that the temples have been in the thousands of years, not very special shape, but also very durable.
There are three gates in the entire archaeological area. We entered through gate 5, next to it is a parking lot. The entire temple complex is huge: the Temple of Concord, the Giant Stone and the Temple of Jura are very shocking! It takes a certain amount of time and energy to visit the whole area in the hot August. Our whole trip took nearly 5 hours including lunch time. I recommend everyone to go to Villa Athena from an almond tree path next to the Temple of Concord to have a panoramic lunch of the temple, a great experience!
