Valley of the Temples Sicily 🗺️
#timetotravel
The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily, is a mesmerizing testament to the grandeur of ancient Greek architecture. My visit to this archaeological wonder left me in awe of the past and the enduring legacy of Greek civilization.
Strolling through the valley, I marveled at the remarkably preserved temples, each with its unique character and history. The Temple of Concordia, with its towering columns, stands as a symbol of classical beauty and perfection.
The setting, overlooking the Sicilian countryside, adds to the enchantment. As the sun sets, the golden hues bathe the temples in a warm glow, creating a magical atmosphere.
The Valley of the Temples is not just a historical site; it's a spiritual and artistic experience. It's a place that makes history come alive, and I left with a profound appreciation for the timeless beauty of ancient Greece. #agrigento #italy #sicily
Agligento is an important tourist town in Sicily, and the Valley of the Temple is the most famous attraction. Being in the Valley of the Temple seems to have entered ancient Greece, and the relics of various ancient Greek temples are well preserved and fragmented.
"Valley of the Temple" is a small hill 2 kilometers south of the city of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. Standing on the top of the mountain, the eye of the mountain suddenly opens, overlooking Agrigento in front, and behind is the green area of the valley. The valley of the temple, a world heritage site in Agrigento, Sicily, is located on a hill 2 kilometers south of the city. It is dangerously landscaped and overlooks the city on one side and sits on the green space of the valley. The hilltops are lined with red ancient Greek temple relics.
First a temple, then a valley of the temple, in fact, see more, really will aesthetic fatigue
The entire archaeological area has three doors, we entered from gate 5, next to a parking lot. The entire temple group is very large: the Concorde Temple, Giant Stone and the Jura Temple are very shocking! It still takes a certain amount of time and physical strength to visit the whole area in the hot August. We spent nearly 5 hours including lunch time on the whole trip. I recommend everyone to go around villa athena from an almond tree path next to the Concord Temple for a panoramic lunch of the temple. It is a great experience!
The Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi) is south of Agrigento City and contains the remains of seven temples: the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Heracles, the Temple of Olympia Zeus, the Temple of Nephew and the Temple of Polux, the Temple of Asclepios and the Temple of Waken. Known as the "Valley of the Temples", six of them are located on the top of the mountain, and the only temple of Asclepis is located on the banks of the Accragas River. Watch the ancient Greek temple from zero distance and feel the shock of its tall and extraordinary atmosphere. During the Italian invasion of World War II, the Allies bombed the modern town of Agrigento, and the Valley of the Temple was lucky to have survived the invasion by American and British forces. Thanks to Sicily archaeologists repairing the temples on these sites, the restoration was carried out by Domenico Antonio Lo Faso Pietrasanta. There is still a lot of things that have not been excavated, you can only imagine how magnificent this place is in the ancient world!
It is said that there are thousands of years of temples, not very special shape, but also very beautiful.
