Asiatique The Riverfront is a large outdoor shopping center located in Bangkok, Thailand.
It is located at the old port of the East Asia Company. Connected to the Chao Phraya River and Charoen Krung Road. It is 30 rai (4.8 rai) in size and has future development plans to include a 72 rai (11.52 rai) mixed-use development following a larger renovation on the original site. This location opened in 2012.
The shopping center was part of the East Asia Company established in 1897, one of the western companies trading with Siam at the time.
The company has a port facility on the Chao Phraya River which includes several warehouses. The oldest structure can be traced back to 1907. In 1947, the port stopped providing services and facilities. abandoned In May 2011, Asiatique Land announced plans to renovate and develop the site to create a shopping/entertainment center called Asiatique The Riverfront.
