What travelers say:

Gaudi’s Palace is a magnificent mansion built by Gaudí for Count Eusevi Güell in 1886. The amazing details from inside to outside have established the lofty status of the creator of Gaud’s atmosphere and space. The roof has strange shapes and colors. The different minarets are all the broken porcelain collage method that Gaudi designed the chimney master loved. It was used here for the first time on a large scale in order to make the tiles fit on the arc surface. Gaudi knocked the broken tiles more into pieces. The unique mosaic tile-style chimney has an opening at the bottom of the triangular cone to prevent rainwater from pour into the chimney. It is very wise to design the tiles and building materials used are all leftover waste from demolition. Such a strong sense of green environmental protection is admirable and selected in 1984. It deserves its name as a United Nations World Cultural Heritage!

Additional Information

Introduction

The Guell Palace was built by Gaudi in 1888 and was the creator of the great atmosphere of Gaudí. In 1984, he was selected as a World Heritage Site. The Guer family's coat of arms, cast in wrought iron between the arches, is extraordinary. The design of the parabolic dome in the central hall is ingenious, and the vaults and columns are clearly influenced by the Alhambra. The chimneys of different styles are the ancestors of many bold chimneys designed by Gaudi.
