Dajue Temple is located on Dajuesi Road in the Haidian District of Beijing. It is famous for its clear springs, ancient trees, magnolia, and elegant environment. The temple was built on the mountain side and faces the east preserving the custom of the Qidan people of the Liao dynasty who faced east to worship the sun. Apart from the conventional temple buildings, there are two other buildings, "Siyitang" named by Emperor Yongzheng and "Xiyunxuan" named by Emperor Qianlong. These buildings give Dajue Temple a lofty cultural status.
