What travelers say:

"Under the Bodhi Tree, a long street extending from the Brandenburg Gate to Alexanderplatz, is comparable to the Champs-lysées in Paris, but quieter than the Champs-lysées, and is not lined with famous shops, but with small, characteristic shops and restaurants." There are many historic buildings, the street itself is very poetic, walking down the Bodhi tree street, feeling the tranquil Berlin, is a great way to see Berlin.

Additional Information

Unter den Linden, situated in the heart of historic Berlin, is the city’s grandest boulevard. Stretching nearly a mile, this grand pedestrian mall “under the linden trees,” as its name describes, was constructed in the 16th century by Elector John George of Brandenburg to create a path to his hunting grounds. The 19th century saw great growth for the area, making Unter den Linden the most prominent street in Berlin. A famous equestrian statue of King Frederick II of Prussia was erected in its center, constructed in 1851 by designer Daniel Rauch.
