The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge is located within the scenic area of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. All decks are paved with transparent glass, at a length and height rarely seen in China. Standing on the bridge, the view of the bottom of the valley 400 meters below is clearly visible. It is not for the weak stomach. There is also a bungee jump in the center of the glass bridge. Try it if you enjoy extreme sports.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Harmona Resort & Spa Zhangjiajie
This is a MUST if you are in Zhangjiajie. It’s just as breathtaking as the Avatar mountains.
You will need a day for Tianmen mountain.
It costs RMB275 for cable car and cable car down.
We took the bus up to the first stop of the mountain then walked up to the Cave (mountain with the hole). Then walked up 1,000 steps. The view is amazing.
From there we then took the world’s longest escalator to the top of the mountain. We then went from the West side (yellow route) and followed the mountain edge to the east side ;red route).
We also took the ski lift chair to the pagoda for a magnificent view. We did a return trip. Costs RMB25 one way.
Getting There - we took a private car from Zhangjiajie to the glass bridge. For 6 people it was 200¥ when booking through our hotel.
Attractions - Glass bridge, zip wiring, virtual reality, walk along the river, boats.
Hotels - N/A
Food & Restaurants - couple of stalls selling snacks.
Shopping - stalls selling snacks and souvenirs.
A great day out! It was quite busy but we thoroughly enjoyed it. You can also opt to take the elevator, slide or walk down the steps if you don’t want to zip wire.
At the bottom of the glass bridge there is a lovely riverside walk - around 3k. All on a wooden footpath.
I loved this trip more because we took more of a road trip with amazing people from different places ,it was mellow and just art warming ..the mountains ..a great place to relax your mind 😉
丽君 (foreign princess)
The world's tallest and longest span glass bridge - the glass bridge of the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
I havent heard of Zhangjiajie, Ive already heard about this glass bridge with ten world firsts. Standing on the glass bridge, the foot is a deep abyss. Think about whether the legs are weak?
Note: You cannot carry all the items that may damage the glass bridge into the scenic area, including cameras, vacuum flasks, large-capacity charging treasures, etc. The security check is very strict. (The camera we brought is specially approved by the scenic spot)
