Changshu Library

Changshu Library is located at No. 27 Shuyuan Street, Changshu City, adjacent to Changshu Museum, connected with Zhaoming Prince Reading Station, Youwen Academy, Maiwang Hall, and the 1915 Old Library, which perfectly integrates traditional culture and modern culture.

Changshu Library was founded in 1915, and has nearly one million books, of which more than 200,000 ancient books, is the national civilized library and first-level library named and recognized by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Central Committee in the League, and the Press and Publication Administration. The library that readers like to name and commend the office of the National Knowledge Engineering Group, the AA-level credit advisory body that is named and recognized by the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Department, the Bureau of Industry and Commerce, and the Association of Science and Technology are successive provincial civilized units. Changshu Library is one of the projects of the municipal committee and municipal government for private affairs. It is located in Shimei Civic Square at the entrance of Lushan in the ancient city area, which is connected with the bustling Fangta Street, covering an area of 9000 square meters and a construction area of 11000 square meters. The overall design reflects the concept of the organic combination of Liangshan Mountain View, the square with each other, traditional style and modern style. It has many landscapes in the tree courtyard, bamboo courtyard and water courtyard. It is the first leisure library in the country. WA China Architecture Winner Award, Second Prize of Architectural Design of the Ministry of National Construction, First Prize of Architectural Design of the Ministry of Education, Second Prize of Cultural Cause Construction Achievement of the "Fifteenth" Period in Jiangsu Province, and Ten New Landscapes of Changshu City. The collection has a capacity of 800,000 volumes, 980 reading seats, and 650 computer information points. It has more than 10 service windows such as adult books and newspapers, tools, local literature, ancient books, children's borrowing, multimedia reading, multiple trainings and exhibition halls and multi-function halls. It has five functions, including urban cultural education center, literature collection center, public information navigation center, information processing and production center and foreign cultural exchanges.
