Located at the intersection of Broad Street and Meeting Street, Charleston’s four most authoritative buildings are the Cathedral of St. Michael (Figures 1&2). The cast iron decorations of the year, the letter weighing, the original mailbox and the current notices of 15 national wanted men are all in sight. The post office is opposite City Hall and it is opposite the courthouse. These four buildings were built in the 19th century and from these we can see the style of Charleston.
