The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is located in the northern suburbs of Chengdu, about 10 kilometers away from downtown Chengdu. The facility is famous for the protection and breeding of endangered wild animals that are unique to China. It simulates the natural habitat of the giant pandas, and has lakes, streams, bamboo forests and lawns. The chance to come into close contact with the giant pandas is a highlight here. Visitors can have a close-up observation of the pandas' living conditions. There is also a "Panda Villa", which is a restricted area for the pandas to rest.
1.The best timing to see the panda bears is before 9:30 in the morning, especially during the summer season because during noon time, the panda bears tend to retreat into their resting areas to cool down and sleep. 2. Please be aware that when you are near the breeding enclosure of the panda bears, you must not emit any loud/sharp sounds or make any unusual movements as this will unnecessarily agitate them. 3. You are not allowed to use flashlights during photo taking as the eyes of baby panda bears are particularly light sensitive.4. Do take note that you are not to feed the panda bears or to take away the bamboo shoots from their enclosure.5. The daily amount of food given to each individual bear is scheduled and planned.

Giant Pandas, one of the rarest animals in the world and known as “living fossil”, are not only extolled as China’s “National Treasure”, but also beloved by people around the world. Chengdu Panda Base, also called Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, is the world's only museum that focuses entirely on the critically endangered giant pandas. It is a site that panda fans cannot miss.
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, also called Chengdu Panda Base is one of the best tourist destinations in China. Located at the north Chengdu suburb with only 10km to the city center, this base was first set up in 1987 with 6 sick and hungry giant pandas saved from the wild nature. And now, Chengdu Panda Base is the sanctuary of more than 150 giant pandas and also the world largest giant panda captive and scientific research base. With the help of Chinese government to save giant pandas and other endangered wildlife there, Chengdu Panda Base is reputed as the “Cradle of Giant Pandas” to closely say hi to those chubby and lovable black and white animals.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is not far from the city center and it’s easy to get there by subway 🚇 We visited this place on November so the weather was just great! It took us more than 2 hours to explore every part of this huge area and to take some adorable pictures and videos! 📸
Fresh air, good weather and cute pandas 🐼 A wonderful part of my traveling to Chengdu! Some pandas were sleeping, some were having snacks 🎋🎍
some were just fooling around 🥰 So relaxing to watch them play!
There was also a big museum of pandas.
After wandering around for so long, we decided to have lunch in one of the restaurants of the Research base.
And before heading back to our hotel we bought some Panda souvenirs from the local shop!
Good experience, amazing memories! Worth visiting again ♥️
Adorable baby pandas! These are 3 to 4 months old pandas in the Sunshine and Moonlight Kidergarten.🐼🎋 I had to shove my hands in my pockets to stop myself from stealing one. 😍💕
These baby pandas were among the seven young giant pandas born in 2019 that were placed in the shape of the number "70" to offer well wishes for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In China's top ten most-visited picturesque places, the Chengdu research facility came in second after the Palace Museum. According to statistics, about 7.5 million people visited the panda base in 2018, and the figure is likely to approach 9 million this year.
🌱 I purchased my ticket through Trip.com and it was such an easy transaction. I just scanned the QR code before entering the park and no need to queue. That gave me a lot of time to enjoy and wander around the park! Thanks Trip! 🙏🏼☺️💕
The Chengdu research base houses and breeds Red Pandas too (also known as red cat-bears or lesser pandas — they aren’t closely related to the Giant panda). Red pandas are an oddity among mammals: they have raccoon-like long, fluffy striped tails, big panda-like features and appetites, but they clean themselves like cats. They are not raccoons, bears, or cats, but rather the only living species in its own genus (Ailuridae, a misnomer for 'cat' in ancient Greek).
There’s less than 10,000 of these gorgeous bears left in the wild. 🎋💕☺️ .
