What travelers say:

Located at the foot of Suthep Mountain, with a strong Buddhist atmosphere, it is known as the "Forest Temple". Surrounded by large forests and a lake, it is uniquely quiet, simple and quiet, very suitable for meditation and meditation. In the base of the stupa there is a tunnel through the flat-topped mountain. It is said that it was built by a monk around 1380 AD, and the temple is named after it.

Additional Information

Wat Umong was built in the 14th Century during the reign of King Mangrai. It is located at the foot of the Doi Suthep mountains. Few tourists come here and, as a result, the atmosphere is suffused with a sense of Zen. At the center of the wat, there is a Sukhothai-style chedi, also called a stupa. Ancient walls surround the chedi. Buddhas of different sizes and shapes are carved into the walls, creating a spectacular sight. Surrounded by thickly wooded forests and small waterfalls, it is particularly beautiful at sunset.
