Quake City

Earthquake City Exhibition Gallery is a multi-media exhibition hall in the city center, built in collaboration with the Canterbury Museum, to tell the story of the Canterbury earthquake, through a multi-sensory experience to allow New Zealanders and foreign tourists to better understand the impact of the earthquake on Christchurch. Through a variety of sensory experiences, you can see the shattered cathedral spire and an active volcano that simulates liquefaction in the earthquake museum, so that visitors can understand the principle of earthquakes. Through a large number of real photos, learn about the touching stories of rescuers after the Canterbury earthquake, and feel the efforts and positive and optimistic spirit of Christchurch citizens in rebuilding the city after the earthquake.
