"The sad road is the way to go in Jerusalem. In the Old City of Jerusalem, there is a small road without a house number. It has been commemorated by Christians since the first century. It is the "VIA DOLOROSA" ("VIA DOLOROSA"). After Jesus was condemned to death, under the order of the Roman governor Pilate, he walked through the streets of Jerusalem with a heavy cross on his back, walked to the execution ground step by step, and then was nailed to the cross. He stayed fourteen times, and these fourteen places were the "fourteen stations on the bitter road." In 1731, Pope Clement XII confirmed the 14 iconic places where Jesus had stayed on the Passion Road, and thus came up with the term "14 Stations on the Passion Road." Many Christian believers came to Jerusalem to make a pilgrimage in the form of re-walking the sad road. This behavior is also called "worshiping the sad road." Most tourists who visit Jerusalem will also walk along the Fourteen Stations. Therefore, this route is also the most famous walking tour route in the Old City of Jerusalem. The road is 1.4 kilometers long and the last five stops are in the current Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The first stop was the Church of Conviction, the former Rome Approval Office. The Governor of Rome flogged Jesus and sentenced him to death. The Roman soldiers put a crown of thorns on Jesus and a purple robe. The second stop Jesus carried the cross. Jesus walked out of the courthouse, took up the cross in front of the door, and walked westward along the street, on a miserable road. The third stop: Jesus fell for the first time. The fourth stop. Jesus saw the Virgin among the crowd. The fifth stop. Simon and Jesus shared the cross. The sixth stop. Veronica wipes Jesus' cheeks. The handkerchief left the face of Jesus. The seventh station where Jesus fell during the second fall, the eighth station where Jesus spoke to the weeping woman, the ninth station where Jesus fell during the third time, the tenth to fourteenth stations, on the second floor of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Jesus was stripped of his coat and nailed to Bleed to death on the cross. They were placed on a stone bed on the first floor, wiped, anointed, wrapped, and buried in the Holy Tomb. The frescoes in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre record the process of Jesus being put down from the cross, wiped and wrapped, until he was buried. Three days later, Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven. The four sacred sites in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre are places for Christian pilgrimages and need to wait in line, especially the altar on the second floor and the Holy Sepulchre on the first floor. Christians are crowded. This passage records the historical facts of Jesus walking towards Golgotha (Skull Mountain) to his crucifixion and being killed, which makes people feel the pain of Jesus' suffering for mankind."
