The Welkin - not the best i’ve seen at this theatre
This is written by a modern playwright and difficult but important themes are included. The sets are fairly minimal with a relatively large cast .( 13). The setting is rural Norfolk/Suffolk (17th C); a jury room where 12 women unusually decide the fate of another. The theatre area was extremely cold and therefore uncomfortable. Most of the ‘action’ took place away from the front of the stage and this combined with accent/dialect it was very difficult to hear the words. Hopefully the cast will be made aware of this and the remaining performances will be easier to follow,

Fun evening at the Criterion Theatre to see Sweeney Todd last night. wonderful intimate theatre, with super bar area. The volunteers do a fab job - we are lucky to have this in Earlsdon
