Outstanding
The Albert Memorial, located opposite the Royal Albert Hall, is the greatest Gothic building of the 19th century. The monument is decorated with a 15-foot bronze statue of Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's husband) reading the catalogue of the 1851 Exhibition with rapt attention. Mark Twain once said: "Of all the sublime and beautiful lands, the only one work of genius and harmony with which I have ever come in contact is the Albert Monument."
