Old city. Some say it is grey and depressing but for me it is a place of power and strength. It is not that crowded as most tourist places (except for the castle I guess). Lots of free activities. Plenty of pretty buildings to take photos of! Also do use the guide - very interesting about all the scientists and poets born there. Definitely will go again in summer to see more of those greens and sip on a cocktail in a local pub.

Beautiful historic centre with a plethora of shops, pubs and restaurants. Very hilly but worth it for some great views of the city!

I went to Edinburgh earlier this year and I have to say this part of town was certainly my favourite I enjoyed looking at the history and the architecture around
The Old Town of Edinburgh will undoubtedly be your first point of call when visiting the city. This is the oldest area of Edinburgh, where the city was first built, and remains the heart of Edinburgh - it was even declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.
It is a must-visit part of Edinburgh. There are lots of attractions in the Old Town. I would recommend visitors walk along the Royal Mile and enjoy the beauty of Edinburgh's Old Town.
a beautiful part of the city, showing off it’s history. one of the best places in the world to be on a cold but sunny winters day
Gorgeous city that full with historical architecture, just feel like you’re in Harry Potter’s movie scene!
