Amazing Hakodate harbour view
This "squid plaza" was located at Hakodate harbour, which was just behind the hotel which we were staying. We purposely took a stroll there (there was no proper signage though, we just crossed roads ...
From the west exit of JR Hakodate Station, passing through the sea side of Hakodate Morning Market, there was Fureai Squid Square. The Seikan Ferry Memorial Hall Mashumaru is moored on the quay in front of the square. In the center of the square, there was a large pale green object. This was an object with the motif of fish in Hakodate City. If you sit down on a nearby bench, you can see the area around Mashumaru and the port, the red brick warehouse and Mt. Hakodate, which is the perfect location for a break spot during sightseeing.
I walked from JR Hakodate Station toward the sea side. The Seikan Ferry Memorial Hall Mashumaru is moored beyond the side of Hakodate Morning Market. The square in front of the Mashumaru is "Fureai Squid Square". There was a large monument with a squid motif in the square. 3 It seems to express the appearance of the body squid flocking. It was a place where you could sit on a bench in the square and take a leisurely view of Mashumaru and Mt. Hakodate.
It is a square near the place where the Mashu of the Seikan Ferry is moored. There was an explanation about the object, so I found out that it was a squid. It's a scenic place with a view of Hakodate Port, but there's nothing to see here.
It is in front of the Seikan connecting ship Mashu Maru.

It is Fureai Squid Square along the sea of Hakodate. I walked from Hakodate station. It is in front of the Seikan Ferry Mashumaru. It was a view spot with a panoramic view of Hakodate Bay, and it was a superb view on a sunny day. If you walk further, you will find the Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse.
