The Тemple of the Holy Virgin in Harbin

The cultural diversity of Harbin is well reflected in the many religious sects and various churches in architecture. The Virgin Guardian Church on Dongdazhi Street is a typical Orthodox Byzantine building. The church was built on the basis of the old Russian cemetery, and stood alongside the Lutheran Church in Germany. The history of more than 100 years has allowed it to witness the changes of the city. The people who walked by in a hurry may be blind to the value of its existence today. !

[Guardian Church of Our Lady] The Church of Our Lady (historic building) is located at 268 Dongdazhi Street, Harbin, is an Orthodox church, also known as the Church of Our Lady. The wooden structure is combined with the masonry structure, which imitates the artistic style of the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul, Turkey, and was built in 1930. The Church of the Virgin is not only a boutique in religious buildings, but also a reflection of Harbin's multiculturalism.

On the side of Dongdazhi Street, Byzantine style buildings, with red facades, have epic style. The name of the church should come from the picture on the gate. The church was renovated in summer and is not open at present. Cars were parked all around, so it was hard to find the best place to take pictures.

It was interesting to see three churches around the street, Christ, God, and the Orthodox style at a time. It was just in time for the Catholic Church to open for prayer and attached a timetable (the other two churches do not seem to have separate entries).

The architecture of the Virgin Mary's Guardian Church is very distinctive and beautiful.

This church, also known as the Notre Dame Church, is the only one in Harbin to restore Orthodox religious activities. It has a solemn and elegant appearance. All the people who come here to worship are Belarusian descendants left behind in Harbin. It is very mysterious that the church is not open to non-believers.
