What travelers say:

Zhaolin Park was built in 1906 as a garden scenic spot named by General Li Zhaolin, a famous anti-Japanese army general. The park experienced four development periods, initially named "Board of Directors Park", then changed to "Special City Park", and after the liberation changed to "Daoli Park". On March 9, 1946, General Lee Zhaolin was buried here, so the Heilongjiang provincial government renamed it as Zhaolin Park.

It is an early city park in Harbin and has been the venue of the annual Ice Lantern Garden. In order to commemorate the anti-Japanese hero Li Zhaolin, the people buried their remains here and held a grand public sacrifice and burial ceremony in the park.
