We bought the family STEM package, which includes the Crystal Cabin (uphill) + Panoramic Cabin (downhill) + Cable Car Exploration Centre tickets, an ice cream voucher (remember to exchange it at the market, it's delicious), and a panoramic cable car building block set, which Youyou loved! It's very suitable for family trips during the summer holidays~
🌟Check-in spots:
1⃣️Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car🚡
We've been looking forward to the transparent glass cable car for a long time, and finally, we got to experience it. You can overlook Hong Kong, with forests and the sea beneath your feet, and even see the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in the distance! Surprisingly, Youyou was not scared at all, sitting happily inside and didn't want to get off.
The cable car has three types of cabins: Standard Cabin, Crystal Cabin, and Panoramic Cabin. The Panoramic Cabin offers the most spectacular views, with glass on all sides and the bottom, allowing for a 360-degree view of the beautiful mountains and seas of Lantau Island, truly one of the top ten best cable cars in the world.
Route: 🚇2 minutes walk from Exit B of Tung Chung MTR station.
2⃣️Ngong Ping Market
After getting off the cable car, you arrive at the market. Families should not miss the Cable Car Exploration Centre here, the first cable car-themed exploration center in Hong Kong, with interactive game areas where you can play and learn about the history and operation of cable cars. It's great for the whole family to experience together. You can also enjoy lunch here, with beverage shops and restaurants, as well as souvenir stores. The bus to Tai O also departs from here.
3⃣️Tian Tan Buddha
The tallest outdoor bronze seated Buddha in the world, it looks majestic and solemn from both afar and up close, and can be seen from the market.
4⃣️Po Lin Monastery
Located at the mountain top, facing the Tian Tan Buddha, it's sacred and spectacular. There are many local tourists praying here, and you can also have a vegetarian meal.
5⃣️Tai O Fishing Village
After visiting Ngong Ping, you can go to Tai O for a stroll. The original fishermen's life can be experienced by taking a boat tour around the village. If you're lucky, you might even go out to sea to see white dolphins. There are many snacks in the village, so you can eat while you walk. If you get tired, find a seaside café to comfortably enjoy the slow life here. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy a stunning sunset🌄
It rained on the day of the tour, and the fog was foggy. It was a pity that the distance could not be seen in the cable car. It did not matter that the "scenes were pleasant". There are many tourists in the mainland, the big Buddha on the top of the mountain is incense, and the temple on the top of the mountain is not large in scale. You can choose another route by bus down the mountain.
It is the first time to take the Ngong Ping 360 cableway in Hong Kong three times. It is good to experience it. The cable car runs smoothly and the van is more spacious. From above, you can see the city and sea views of Lantau Island in Hong Kong, and you can also enjoy the majestic position of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
Awesome.. a must visit attraction in Hong Kong.. you will not regret it.. Tickets are way cheaper here in trip.com..
Wednesday, there were not many people, the weather was a little cloudy shower, but fortunately, it didn’t rain when I took the cable car and visited Tai O. Finally, it rained for a while on the return trip. My son had a great time. It is recommended to sit on crystals when you go. Take the panoramic view on the return trip. When crystal was fighting with another family, there were few people and no panoramic views on the return trip, so our family of three occupied the private box panoramic carriage worth 2850, took beautiful photos, went to Tai O to take a small boat to sea, saw a few dolphins, not in vain! ! !
Business hours (10:00-18:00), I bought the Tai O Pass (including: two snack cash coupons of HK$10*2, I used them once at the Subway I just entered, and I can use two together. I'm too lazy to study which stores can use them; the crystal cable car goes up for about 20 minutes, the photo + photo crystal ball costs 💲398, if you want to buy it, the staff took a good photo for me, so I bought it, it's very expensive; the bus goes to and from Tai O, one hour per hour, pay attention to the timetable, the last return bus is 16:45, you need to change the ticket when you go, when it's almost time for the bus, there will be staff to help you change it at the waiting station, it takes 10 minutes to take bus No. 21 from Ngong Ping to Tai O; the cruise ticket also takes about 20 minutes) It is not recommended to buy a round-trip cable car, you can just take the bus back to the city from Tai O, no need to experience the cable car twice!
In addition to the price is a bit expensive, there is nothing wrong with it. You can see the sunset in the evening. Now you can also see the tunnel into the sea of the Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Bridge, like two relative snakes. The Big Buddha on the top of the mountain can be photographed on the top of Taiping Mountain. The mountaintop market is not big, and some shops are closed, which is slightly depressed than 8/9 years ago. But we caught up with the Doraemon dolls on display, and each took a photo. The cable car is more expensive to take pictures, and the background is a cement pillar, but unfortunately the scenery along the way. A photo and a glass base, about 380 yuan, is really a bit expensive. It is rare to take a photo with the old sister, and the staff is too enthusiastic. Just bought it. In fact, I think I can let the staff take pictures along the way. The background is that mountains and sea are the only characteristics, and we are not full when we go up and down. Spend more money and buy a few more.
The Ngong Ping 360 Seaview Cable Car is indeed worth taking, it is a rare travel experience. The whole journey takes about 20 minutes, across the mountains and seas, overlooking the airport and Lantau from the air, and the sight is excellent. The characteristic of the crystal carriage is that you can see the scenery on the ground, and you have a careful choice for fear of heights. August 2024 is a Doraemon 100-year theme Hong Kong tour, and individual cars also have Doraemon elements, very cute 😄
Ngong Ping 360 is built near Tung Chung, close to the airport, so the scenery is more spectacular; this ropeway is relatively long, one way is nearly 20 minutes, considering the car and queue waiting, it is estimated that the back and forth is at least 2 hours, so everyone should pay attention to reserve enough time; Personally think that the standard version is already very good, it is very clear, the panoramic car has to wait, not immediately; in addition, the fare is not cheap, I hope to be more favorable.
