Zhazangsi

Zhazang Temple is located in Huangyuan County, Xining City, hidden among green mountains and green waters. This monastery, built in the first year of Yankang in the Eastern Han Dynasty, has a history of more than 1,700 years. Although the monastery is small, it has a great reputation. In the sixth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the third generation Sonam Gyamtso visited the temple to teach scriptures and spread the Dharma, which made it famous. Zhazang Temple has a long history and picturesque scenery. It is an early Yellow Sect temple in my country. The temple was destroyed during the Yongzheng period, the Tongzhi period, and the ten-year turbulent period of the Qing Dynasty. The scripture hall, precious cultural relics, and historical books were burned and many Buddha statues were also destroyed. Today's Zhazang Temple has been restored. Although it is not as large as it was in the past, it is still full of incense.
