based on 3,380 reviewsGülhani Park, located north of Topkapi Palace, was once the palace's outer garden and is now a large public recreational area. It boasts towering ancient trees and lush flowers, making it perfect for flower viewing, strolling, or picnicking. Although situated in a tourist area, the park is surprisingly quiet because most visitors are concentrated on sightseeing at other attractions. At the park's southern entrance is a small pavilion, said to have been used in the past for parades held by the army and merchants to commemorate important festivals and military victories, with the Sultan reviewing the processions from this pavilion. Every April, Istanbul hosts the annual International Tulip Festival, during which Gülhani Park bursts into bloom with tulips, creating a truly beautiful sight.
