The Chenghuang Temple is located in the west corner of the old city, at No. 99 on the north side of Lanzhou East Road, Jiaozhou City. The original meaning of "Chenghuang" is the city wall and the trench. The water in the trench is "pond", and the waterless is "huang". Under the influence of Taoism, the city god evolved into a god, and gradually evolved from a general water god to a vital god who guards the city and blesses the people. It was built in the second year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1369), and Jiaozhou City God Temple has been around for 634 years. Since then, additional constructions have been carried out, and various dynasties have also carried out many overhauls. The original temple covers an area of 2,500 square meters, with a construction area of 1,069.8 square meters. There are 2 main halls, 6 front halls, two corridors in front of the hall, and the mountain gate in the south, with a total of 11 halls and 37 wing rooms. After the liberation, the statue was demolished, and the temple still exists. In 1986, it was changed to Jiaozhou Museum. The main existing buildings are one in the main entrance hall of Chenghuang Temple, three in Guangsheng Hall, five in Lingyouhou Mansion (main hall), three in the west wing of Ruixing Hall (two halls), and five in sleeping palaces (three halls). In 1999, the Qingdao Municipal People's Government listed it as a key cultural relics protection unit at the Qingdao municipal level.
