Building a hut among the human realm, yet without the noise of carts and horses" - Du Fu's Thatched Cottage
Du Fu's Thatched Cottage was the residence of the sage of poetry, Du Fu, who sought refuge from the An Lushan Rebellion and lived in the Shu region. He resided here for nearly 4 years. More than 240 of his poems composed here have been passed down to this day, including timeless masterpieces such as 'Happy Rain on a Spring Night' and 'A Song of a Cottage Destroyed by Autumn Winds'.
At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the poet Wei Zhuang found the ruins of the cottage, rebuilt the thatched house, and preserved it. During the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, it was repaired and expanded. The Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum in Chengdu houses more than 30,000 volumes of various materials and over 2,000 cultural relics, making it the richest and best-preserved collection of Du Fu's life's work.

Come to Chengdu, you must come to the grass hall! Deep experience of history and humanities! The tour guide is an elegant man, the explanation is very in place! Let us understand the meaning and background of every word, every link, every poem. Benefit a lot, bring children, study experience! Recommended to come, must find a tour guide to explain! Deep experience!
It is worth a visit or two, you can't take a horse to watch the flowers, the humanistic landscape, it is best to do your homework first. The explanation has to wait for a group, and a self-service voice explanation is not bad. The place is not too big, the road is more complicated, and I have come to every point with a calm heart.
It is worth seeing, Du Fu's Caotang is quite big, the winding path is quiet, and the dense green plants wrap the Caotang in it. It has a special feature, especially the Tangfeng ruins are very interesting and the architectural style is very poetic. The spring night of poetry and the rain are displayed everywhere in the Caotang.
People come and go, small scenic spots, you can see, there are not many characteristics, it is the feeling of a small community street garden, there are too many people, the price is expensive, there is nothing to see, it feels OK, not to come, that's it, you can also make do with it, No big problem, about 10,000 square meters, nothing means I feel very amazing
Among my top favorites in Chengdu. So serene, beautiful buildings and landscaped gardens. Very varse compound. My favorite part was the library. Recommended to come here
Take the children to see Du Fu, carry his ancient poems to see the ancient people's residence, museum, education closed loop, it is almost four o'clock, there are not many people, so it is very quiet, everywhere to take pictures and punch in is very good, many people may be crowded, suitable for the children of the Oriental Huangsiniang who stroll slowly. Necklace, good quality and cheap, very happy
Du Fu Thatched Cottage 杜甫草堂Visited this park and museum in honor of the poet Du Fu. Honest don’t know much about him.Basically, it was a peaceful park, if without the tourist crowd. The main attraction was the Thatched Cottage in the middle of the park.
Du Fu Thatched cottage was beautifully preserved and a stunning cultural landmark to visit and gain insight to the history of Chinese culture. It is partly wheelchair accessible with assistance.
