Big object
I don’t know what is this monument. But this statue, or an art object, near Hyogo Prefectural Museum is very appealing. Unintentionally I took several pictures.
It was a monument installed facing the sea side in front of the Prefectural Museum of Art. It became a large statue with a strong presence that you will always see when you stroll around Nagisa Park, and it became popular as a commemorative photo spot. Grace, the park area wasn't crowded with people, but only here was a strange atmosphere with many people gathering.
The title panel on the foot pedestal was only written as "Sun Sister". It was a public art work made of FRP, stainless steel, iron, etc., and stood toward the sea side by the harbor walk. It was one of the commemorative photo spots because it seemed to be an art work with a characteristic design as well as its size.
The "Nagisa" is a work by Kenji Yanobe, a contemporary artist at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, but it is outdoors so you can see it without entering the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art. I wondered if he was standing staring at the beach, but according to the explanation board, he was standing staring at the past, present, and future. It is a work that has a considerable impact.
When I went outside to look at the harbor on the way back from the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, I was surprised to see a huge statue standing in front of me. Apparently it looks like a monument of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but there was no explanation of the origin, and it clearly floated from the surrounding scenery.
