The old town of Kotor is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean region, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Great Wall of Kotor,the walls that rise from the sea climb surrounding peaks in a zigzag pattern to the fortress that guards the city at 300 meters above sea level, and then descend to the sea again, creating a solid stone wall 4.5 kilometers in length.Here, the history, culture, and traditions of Kotor are preserved, with numerous monuments of medieval architecture such as churches, cathedrals, palaces, and museums. The old town boasts many local traditional restaurants serving authentic dishes as well as a variety of Mediterranean cuisine. Additionally, there are numerous boutiques, shops, and souvenir stores in the old town.

Show More ReviewsKotor, Montenegro is one of the most complete cities in the medieval ancient city on the Adriatic coast, and the ancient city of Kotor was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. Adriatic is a large bay in the Mediterranean Sea, and Kotor Bay is the southernmost fjord in Europe. It happened to be Easter when we arrived in Kotor. Many local tourists have the entrance of the city gates currently decorated with sculptures from the Tito era. The lion sculptures from the Venetian era have been moved to the side.
