Istana Negara located on Jalan Istana, Kuala Lumpur was built in 1928. The 28-acre property used to be the residence of His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia) since 1957. In 2011, it was replaced by a new palace, which is located near Jalan Duta. Hence, it is now referred to as the Old Istana Negara. The old palace was converted into the Royal Museum in 2013.
The King's Palace of Malaysia, known as the Istana Negara is the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the monarch of Malaysia. Located in the Capital City of Kuala Lumpur.
Palace is well maintained. It is advisable to visit this place either in the morning or evening as the place gets hptter during the noon. The place is well guarded with tight security. The only thing to do is take few photographs in front of the Sultans palace.
Palace can only be viewed from the outer. Architecture is very unique and filled with Islamic element. The public is only allowed to enter and visit on special holidays, but these occasions change every five years when there is a new monarch. On the day we visited, we learned that the yellow flag was raised high in the central palace, indicating the monarch was still inside. We also happened to witness the changing of the guard ceremony.
if you want to have an experience being in castle and looking for the Royal Highness History, you should being here for it. totally worth
This is the royal Palace. It is beautiful! Grand architecture. Worth a photo op. You can’t get very close, but it’s worth a look and put on your second tier itinerary. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
