Kuala Lumpur's Petaling Street, also known as Chinatown, is the place with the most oriental elements. Here you can find the fun of bargaining for shopping, eating barbecue, and authentic Malaysian food. It is a place worth visiting for Chinese people. There you can feel the local cultural atmosphere and buy some souvenirs and gifts.
Living near China Town, I went shopping. The Petaling Street Market is China Town, Jalan Petaling is commonly known as Chinatown. Nowadays, most of the people hawking here are foreign workers, and the business scope includes clothing, shoes, hats, bags and other small commodities. You can bargain for the items you like. You can taste the local authentic snacks in the market. The famous night stalls are mostly concentrated in Jalan Hang Lekir and Jalan Sultan. The night is very lively and crowded. The emergence of the cultural street in the Petaling Street area has brought more art and historical atmosphere here. The old houses have been renovated into coffee shops, bars, theme restaurants, folk song restaurants, bookstores, tea houses, etc., which are the new features of Petaling Street. I felt hungry while walking, and saw a restaurant with barbecued pork, roasted meat, roasted chicken, and rice. The quantity was not much, so I ordered two servings.
Easy ride from PJ, joined KLCFM for short distance then redirect to ICC Pudu for Lala Meehon.. RM12/bowl 🍜 manyak Lala..😍 Slowing ride back to Petaling Street.. saw Yeoh LG with family.. heavy rain when I reach Pasar Seni Station.. total 26km.. still don't know the weather condition in PJ.. maybe need to ride under the rain..🫣 #mhHOOD
My last visit to Petaling Street was more than two decades ago. Time flies! When I visited this time, the area was somehow rejuvenated and we can see more sky scrapers nearby and far ahead, coupled with so many hundreds of new shops and payment method. However, the feel and vide of the old Chinatown etched deeply in my mind as I was walking along. Pl come again if you were like me. :)
Nothing special about this area but very popular among tourists especially at night. Plenty of street food stalls if you’re feeling adventurous.
