What travelers say:

Where is the most beautiful road in spring? "More than 50% of all those living in Kyoto will tell you in philosophy, this is the path from the shrine of Wakaoji Kumano to the Yinkaku Ji Temple, and the cherry blossoms on either side of the road are as if you were in the middle of the road, looking up, and not even seeing the blue sky." Only large, large pink seas, and when the snow blowing petals in the river, like a pink river, so beautiful and dreamy.

Additional Information

The Philosopher's Walk is located in the foothills of Dongshan Mountain. It is next to an artificial river channel and passes through Faran Monastery before ending at Ginkakuji Temple. It is a walking path about 1.5 kilometers long and was once selected as one of Japan's famous roads. Because the philosopher Nishida Kentaro often came here to think about the philosophy of life, the famous cherry trees lining the roadside were donated by the artist Mrs. Hashimoto.
