This time we went to Lake Windermere, the largest and most representative of the Lake District. It is the hometown of Peter Rabbit and the filming location of 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. It is recommended to go on a sunny day, take a walk along the long Lake Windermere, the scenery along the way is pleasant, and you can also feed the swans and pigeons by the lake. 🏨Hotel environment: Storrs Hall Hotel, a hotel transformed by the Duke of Storrs Hall from his own estate, has a beautiful lake view and is highly recommended. 🍽Dining recommendation: The two most praised restaurants in the Lake District, Porto and Hylton, are actually front and back doors. We later chose Porto, their salad is very delicious, the lamb chops are very tender, the mushroom risotto is a bit salty, but the overall taste is not bad. Daybreak On Lake Windermere England: Located at the heart of Lake District National Park, Lake Windermere is England’s largest expanse of freshwater. It is also the perfect place to welcome in a new day during the warm summer months. It was 4:00am and my boat rocked gently below the parting night sky. The brightest stars were still faintly visible to the naked eye. The moon’s happy face was about to greet the sun and hail another beautiful day, these two celestial chums never far from one another in the heavens. Located in two basins, the basin is built as a series of islands opposite the town of Bowness on the east coast of the lake. The lake is long and narrow, with the deepest at the northern end.

My boat ride and accommodation were in Bowness (Bowness-on-Windermere). After arriving in Windermere, you can get to Bowness by: 1. Bus🚌555, 599, or 6, which takes about 10 minutes, 🎫£2 one-way 2. Taxi🚕available right outside the train station, around £6 3. Walking🚶about 25-30 minutes For sightseeing boats, you can board directly from Bowness Pier. You can purchase boat tickets in advance on the official website or at the ticket office on site. 📝Note tips: 1️⃣Don't buy the Blue Cruise❌It's short, doesn't include any attractions, and is just a loop around a section of the lake - not worth the money and quite boring. 2️⃣The Red Cruise goes around the northern part of the lake, stopping at Waterhead Pier, where you can visit the northern end of Lake Windermere, Ambleside village, with its parks and Roman fort ruins, and the white houses🏠along the road have a Greek flair. 3️⃣The Yellow Cruise goes around the southern part of the lake and reaches Lakeside Pier, a great place for hiking. Additionally, you can buy a combo ticket for the Yellow Cruise, which includes a sightseeing boat➕motor museum/aquarium/steam train🚂, available for purchase depending on your needs (❗️the steam train is only open in summer). Regardless of which route you choose, all depart from Bowness Pier and return to the starting point. During the trip, remember to pay attention to the departure times at the piers to avoid a long wait if you miss the boat⌚️ 🛏Hotel information (recommended): 📍The Belsfield Hotel 🏨 Hotel environment: The hotel features quaint English luxury decor, comfortable and cozy, with friendly staff. There's a large garden in front for walks🚶. Plus, the hotel is located right next to Bowness Pier! Great location, with the pier and bus station within walking distance! The hotel has a small bar on the ground floor where you can enjoy a drink while admiring the view outside. Also, the hotel's dinner is great, with a lovely atmosphere, just remember to book in advance. 🌟Local must-visit: No need to go into detail here, the scenery is beautiful, and you can take great photos with just a snap of the camera📷 🍽Food guide: There's a fantastic Indian restaurant worth trying! 🇮🇳Mela Spice Restaurant🇮🇳 The curry is very authentic, made by Indian chefs! Generous portions and reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit! This restaurant is very popular locally, so it's best to call ahead to reserve a table, otherwise, you might have to wait a long time. 💗Travel impressions: The scenery in the Lake District is very beautiful, and the water is very clear. 💮Storrs Hall Hotel @ Windermere 英湖斯託爾斯大廳酒店💮 Lovely place to stay. We stayed in a classic lake view room and were not disappointed with the view! The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great with yet another stunning view of the lake and had a really nice walk around the hotel gardens too.
