They’ve got penguins! The zoo is beautifully laid out with different areas designed according to different terrains and geographic regions, especially liked the Gir Forest recreation for the Asiatic Lion with the Indian themed decorations. Great fun day out in London and if the weather is on your side you can end with a picnic in the surrounding Regent’s Park
MoreRediscover London Zoo
Set in leafy Regent's Park amid heritage-listed buildings and beautiful gardens, ZSL London Zoo is an oasis in the heart of the capital with just under 15,000 amazing animals to discover.
GET UP CLOSE TO WILDLIFE
The Zoo’s biggest experience, Land of the Lions, gives you the chance to get closer than ever before to the mighty Asiatic lions – of which only 400 remain in the wild. You can explore walkways covering the 2,500sqm Indian-themed exhibit.
Monkey Valley, newly opened in August 2022, will transport you to the lush mountainous forest of Central Africa, against the backdrop of a 30ft waterfall and peaceful lagoon. Get ready to step into the action and experience our troop of gravity-defying, 'high-flying' colobus monkeys leaping, lounging, swinging, and snoozing, in their new tree-top inspired habitat.
Come face-to-face with one of nature’s most awesome predators in Tiger Territory, learn about the natural behaviours of Sumatran tigers and discover the conservation issues these creatures face in the wild. Keep your eyes peeled for the tiger cubs born June 2022!
Tiny Giants is a celebration of all things small but mighty, and the sometimes strange but always wonderful world of invertebrates. Also home to a brand new coral reef tank, this indoor experience is one not to be missed.
You’ll love heading down to the beach to watch our colony of Humboldt penguins dive, swim, frolic and feed in England's largest penguin pool, complete with large underwater viewing windows. And step Into Africa to observe the elegance and grace of the giraffes before moving on to the magnificent residents of Gorilla Kingdom.

Definitely worth to visit. Saw lots of exotic animals that I haven’t seen in my entire life.
Situated in central London next to Regents Park it offers a whole day activity. Best to get here is using public transport. The zoo was great, there was a few new enclosures being built. It seemed maybe the enclosures where cramped for some animals however it was a good time. It took 3 of us 2 hours in all to see everything not including stopping. It had areas themed and decorated accordingly. I'd recommend this zoo for sure.
Although the zoo is very small, there are many animals, and the animals are well cared for, and the contact with people is also high. The daughter has a super fun.
I really enjoyed with my bf
The zoo is not big, but there are many kinds. It takes about four hours to visit.
