Tower Bridge is one of London's landmark structures and a symbol of the city. It is a suspension bridge spanning the River Thames and also a bascule bridge. When large ships over 10,000 tons need to pass through, the bridge slowly splits and lifts upward. After the ships pass, the bridge gradually lowers to restore road traffic. The bridge consists of four connected towers, with a total length of approximately 240 meters across two levels. The bridge foundations feature two towering square main towers, each five stories high, topped with white marble roofs and five small spires that resemble crowns when viewed from afar.
