Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial House in Macau

The Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is a three-storey Islamic Moorish-style building next to the Universal Hotel at No. 1 Vendez Street. The whole building is elegant and solemn, with a beautiful appearance, surrounded by a short wall, and a small garden on the left side. Mr. Sun liked to sit here before his death. Today, there is a full-body bronze statue of the father of the country and the four characters "The world is for the public". The decoration in the museum is preserved as it is, and the furnishings are all the cultural relics and furniture used by Mr. Sun when he was the Grand Marshal in Guangzhou. In addition, there are some authentic works of the founding father and precious photos during his lifetime, including the group photos of the founding father and the revolutionary ancestors, which are also collected here. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built in 1918 as the residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's family. Later, it was rebuilt in 1930 due to the explosion of the powder storehouse in the nearby governor's residence. After the death of Mr. Sun Yat-sen's original wife, Ms. Lu Muzhen, the former residence was renamed "Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall" in 1958.
