Paseo de la Castellana

Stroll through the ages on the Paseo de la Castellana, in Madrid, Spain, the longest and one of the widest paths in Madrid. Start at the southern point with the Paseo del Prado to see old palaces and the Prado Museum featuring the collection of older Spanish art, particularly paintings of Velasquez, Goya and El Greco. Going north, you go by several plazas and areas of luxury apartments and shopping boutiques. Contemporary architecture dominates the northern end, where you also encounter the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. End the trip with the Puerta de Europa, and its diagonal black skyscrapers.
