My AirBnB in Makati is only a 10-minute walk from the Hulo terminal, so I think taking a ferry is a fun and cheap way to get to Intramuros, Chinatown, etc. The fare is 30 pence, and I waited about 10 minutes to disembark. During the ride, I asked if I could open the bow and take pictures, and the captain (?) said yes. Compared with a little stuffy cabin, the river view is better and the breeze is blowing. The traffic on the river was not as much as I expected, but it was enough to make this trip interesting. For some unexplained or announced reasons, the last stop of the ship was Santa Ana, less than half of Intramuros. The Santa Ana terminal is not as "official" as the Hulo terminal, and the surrounding area looks a bit close. So I got off the car as instructed and started paying attention to other passengers. Less than 100 yards/meter away from Santa Ana Market (I know it now), compared to the affluent Makati Central Business District, this is a good place for local culture with a lower economic level. After walking around in the market, I was not sure how to get to Intramuros, so I went to the electric tricycle driver parked in the alley and said Intramuros? He said "how much?" This was not the response I expected, so in order to avoid long back and forth, I said 300 pesos (of course I can do this for much less than this)... Then we went Up.
