What travelers say:

For visitors to Manila, the areas surrounding Rizal Park are must see locations with excellent attractions of great historical significance and as relaxing outdoors. I arrived here from Metro Manila’s Shaw Boulevard MRT Station to Taft Avenue and then taking a short walk to EDSA station on LRT Line 1 going north and exiting at United Nations Avenue LRT Station.Rizal Park and many other national, historical sites and museum attractions are all just within a short walk from this LRT station. Some of the many tourist attractions are Rizal Park and Luneta Park, the Independence Flag Pole, Rizal Monument, Dr.Jose Rizal Execution Site, Lapu-Lapu Monument, Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden and many museums and government buildings. Further to the west of the Roxas Boulevard and Independence Road is the Quirini Grandstand where the Annual Independence Day celebrations are commemorated. Intramuros is another area just north with Cathedral of Manila and many more religious and other places of interest. In general Rizal – Luneta park areas are of great national significance for visitors that is well worth a day’s visit.

Additional Information

Rizal Park is located on the Roxas Boulevard in the city centre, facing Manila Bay. In the center of the park is a bronze statue of the hero Jose Rizal, who led the Philippine independence movement. Inside the artificial pool on the east side of the park is a model of the Philippine Islands that was originally built in the Philippines. Visitors can see the location of the various islands in the Philippines. There is an international garden dedicated to the cultivation of Chinese, Japanese and Italian flowers in the north. The daily audiovisual performances also attract the attention of many tourists. The environment in Rizal Park is beautiful, and the sea breeze is a good place for people to rest.
