🏔️Mount Rainier National Park | Accidentally stumbled into Heidi's garden
Mount Rainier National Park
📍Detailed address:
Rainier National Park is located 2-3 hours southeast of downtown Seattle, depending on which entrance you take. We traveled from nearby Oregon.
🚗Transportation guide:
▪️Public transportation to enter the park is limited, so I suggest driving or renting a car. The best route to visit Mount Rainier is to be able to tour the park along wildflower meadows, towering trees, and mountain scenery.
▪️The closest airport to the park is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
🗓Best time to visit:
Although some areas of the park are officially open all year round, summer and autumn are the best times to visit so far. Especially from July to October, the weather is good, there is no snow on the road, and you can also see wildflowers.
🏔Park entrance
▪️There are four main entrances to Mount Rainier National Park: Nisqually (southwest), Carbon River (northwest), White River/Sunrise (northeast), and Stevens Canyon (southeast).
▪️The Nisqually entrance is probably the most popular choice, as it allows vehicle access year-round, is close to the state's main highways, and provides access to Longmire and Paradise.
⚠️Please note that many park roads are closed in winter.
🏔The park has five main sections:
Longmire, Paradise, Ohanapecosh, Sunrise, and Carbon River/Mowich. I want to say that the most developed and famous parts of the park are Paradise and Sunrise.
▪️Longmire - Historic district of the park, providing access to the Wilderness Information Center, museum, and National Park Inn.
▪️Heaven - known for its wildflower meadows, main park visitor center, winter activities, ranger station, guides, and Heaven Lodge.
▪️Ohanapecosh - Experience the ancient forest of the park, and visit the Ohanapecosh Visitor Center and Ohanapecosh Campground.
▪️Sunrise - a popular spot for wildflowers, grasslands, and mountain views. You can visit the Sunrise Visitor Center, Sunrise Day Lodge, and White River Campground.
▪️Carbon River/Mowich - known for its beautiful trails and camping, including Mowich Lake Campground and Tolmie Peak Trail.
🏨Where to stay?
Within and outside of Mount Rainier National Park, there are many lodging options available.
In the park, you can choose to stay at the National Park Inn (Longmire) and Paradise Inn, or at one of the three main campgrounds (Cougar Rock, Ohanapecosh, and White River).
Outside the park: Ashford and Parkwood:
▪️Creekside Cabin is a classic and comfortable small house that can accommodate up to 4 people, located near the entrance of Nisqually Park.
▪️The Nelson Basecamp Cabin is a family-run cabin filled with personal mementos from mountain trips and ample outdoor space.
▪️Overlooking the river from the Big Creek Cabin, with a comfortable loft bedroom and beautiful views from the deck.
🏔Recommended scenic spots
▪️Explore paradise, witness wildflowers and grasslands, the historic Paradise Inn, and visit the museum upstairs at the Jackson Visitor Center in Paradise.
▪️When driving up from the southwest entrance, stop at the Christine Falls and Narada Falls. They both have short walking distances, but the scenery is stunning!
▪️Admire the mountain scenery from Reflection Lake (named for the beautiful reflection of Mount Rainier you saw on still days).
▪️The scenery along the road between heaven and sunrise is beautiful. Detour to Tipsoo Lake to see the blooming wildflowers, the picnic area of nature, and the view of Mount Rainier.
▪️Drive to the highest point of the park to watch the sunrise. You can also overlook the views of Mount Rainier, Emmons Glacier, and Mount Adams.
▪️Explore the historic district of Longmire, including the Longmire Museum and National Park Inn.
Rainier Mountain Park is really beautiful, it is very representative of many natural landscapes in the United States, whether it is day, morning or night, it is very worth visiting, there are very rich ecological and natural scenery, and there are quite a lot of people to visit.
Mount Rainier National Park is a park centered on Mount Rainier, south of Seattle. At 4,391 meters above sea level. Cone volcano. The base plate is granite and the volcano body is Andes. The eruption was in 1870 and only a small amount of steam is sprayed. There are hot springs nearby. Mountains and low slopes grow coniferous forests (fir, pine, etc.), with altitudes of 2,600-2,800 meters high as alpine meadows, higher as permanent snow and glaciers.
I climbed the rainier twice and started on both sides. One of them walked for more than six hours without knowing it. I have seen the high altitude landform on the mountainside. I also experienced the small mountains. I met a few cute squirrels on the road. I rested many times. The sky was very low and the clouds were very low. The road we walked seems not to be the route most tourists take, there are very few people along the way, but regret to find that after two years, the snow is less.
Welcome to the charming and vibrant Renil Volcano National Park 🏞 Stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the charming and calm paradise 💙 Explore the towering volcano 🌋 Watch wildlife walk freely 🐻 Join a rich and varied outdoor activity 🏕 Feel the nature
At the end of June, it was cloudy that morning when we were going. The car started to clear up at the foot of the mountain and saw the peaks of the snow mountain. We went straight to paradise's tourist center happily. Get a map of trail at the tourist center and go up the hill. Unexpectedly, the snow on the road has not yet melted, the path is sometimes seen and sometimes invisible, the more snow climbing up the mountain, and finally can only climb up along the road stepped out of other people's footprints in the snow. Our goal is a panorama point 6,800 feet above sea level. However, there is no sense of direction in the snow and no GPS navigation. We are going to take a slower road and somehow become a steep Golden Gate trail. At 6,400 feet above sea level, there is a sign. Several foreigners who specialize in equipment are also seen. When we boast that we are very brave to climb the highest point, we look closely at the snow mountain in front of us and feel very sacred and magnificent. It was 4:30 p.m. when we went down the hill. Although the sun set at 9:00 p.m. in Seattle, it was quite late. We went down along skyline trail, but most of the roads were still covered by snow, so that we almost walked into the river along other people's footprints. Later, we could only find the direction by the general orientation of the map and the compass. As soon as we got back to the tourist center, there was a heavy fog on the hill. The road and direction were invisible, which made us feel very lucky. Nature also has more awe for snow mountains. PS - "Snow Mountain is really sunny. The sunlight is more dazzling when it is reflected by snow. To climb paradise, you must do a good job of sunscreen, wear sunglasses, prepare enough food and water, and don't go downhill too late. When you are ready, enjoy the beauty of Paradise , infinite scenery in dangerous peaks, paradise, it's really worth seeing.
Like the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington State. Mount Rainier National Park attracts countless hikers and mountaineers from all over the world. To visit this national park, you have to start with Mt. Rainier. Let's begin a pilgrimage to Mount Rainier from Tacoma, one of the only roads to Mount Rainier.
Now to Mount Rainier National Park is the best season, snowy mountains, blue sky and white clouds, green values, photographs taken like beautiful paintings.
It's highly recommended. The first time I approached the snow mountain, I felt very shocked. Neither the blue sky nor the white clouds, let alone the scenery step by step. If it is June and July, there will be a lot of small flowers in the mountains, winter should have a different flavor. Come again next time!
