I took the kids to Mochou Lake Park this weekend. Formed by the remnants of the ancient Yangtze River, Mochou Lake is the second largest body of water in Nanjing, second only to Xuanwu Lake. During the Ming Dynasty, the Mochou Lake area became the private garden of Xu Fu, Duke of Wei, and gradually became one of the famous gardens in Jinling. During the Qing Dynasty, the lake served as a gathering place for Jinling literati, and "Mochou Misty Rain" is listed as the first of the Forty-Eight Scenic Spots of Jinling. Mochou Lake Park boasts several key attractions, including Shengqi Tower, Huayan Temple, Yujin Hall, Suhexiang, Mochou Water Courtyard, Qiwen Pavilion, the Tomb of the Fallen Soldiers of the Guangdong Army, Baoyue Tower, Begonia Boutique Garden, and the Sino-Japanese Friendship Iris Garden. It's a scenic spot that blends landscapes, architecture, and flowers, and is one of Nanjing's major parks. It's a great place to take the kids for a stroll!
